Indian Arithmetic was known in Medieval Europe as “Modus Indoram”

Brahmagupta Arithmetic Four fundamental operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) were known to many cultures before Brahmagupta. This current system is based on the Hindu Arabic number system and first appeared in Brahmasphutasiddhanta.
